Interpreting is a relatively new field for Janus, but we are enjoying strong growth in this area and have added an entire department dedicated to it. Our Interpretations service can be called upon for most any need from conferences and exhibitions to excursions and legal proceedings. There are two modes of interpreting: Consecutive and Simultaneous. In Consecutive Interpreting, the speaker and the interpreter take turns speaking, so that the speech is translated sentence by sentence, or in small chunks of text. Consecutive Interpreting is often used when there is only a small number of people in the audience, in cases when discussions need to be held with a lot of debate, or when didactic instruction is needed. During Simultaneous Interpreting the interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker, who is therefore free to speak without pausing for the interpreter's translation. For Simultaneous Interpreting special equipment is required, and the translation is broadcasted through the listener's headphones or speakers. We offer both Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpreting, and also offer Simultaneous Interpreting equipment for hire. Our scheduling managers can provide a professional interpreter for any language pair, in almost any location worldwide, and for subjects ranging from mining, chemical, IT, retail and consumer, to legal matters and business negotiating and finance. Janus has the skilled resources you need when you need them. Contact us for more information! |
