Janus Worldwide has completed implementation of its proprietary Global Technology Platform (GTP), which provides clients with an array of tools and technologies to minimise their expenses while also ensuring delivery of the highest-quality translation services. All five platform solutions offered by Janus are dedicated to making the translation and localisation process as simple as possible. Clients have full access to project data in real time to ensure that work is completed by their deadline and to a high standard.
The Global Technology Platform combines the following technologies: Janus TermCheck, Janus Perfect, Janus Connect, Janus DashPort and Janus Express.
Janus TermCheck is a useful terminology management tool that helps companies to maintain a consistent public message across internal departments, divisions and representative offices. Using Janus TermCheck allows documentation and other external or internal content to be drawn up much more quickly and efficiently.
Janus Perfect is an integrated, multifaceted, automated quality control process that helps to eliminate errors and issues that may arise at any stage of a project. The solution combines expertise, software, specialised tools and documented procedures, not only significantly improving the quality of the end product, but also reducing client expenditure and time spent on preparing a product for release onto the market.
Janus Connect is a proprietary web portal featuring an array of tools for effectively managing and controlling translation projects. The web portal’s interface is intuitively simple and easy to use; users gain access with assigned logins and passwords. Janus Connect allows companies to input and edit their contact information, place orders, choose source and target languages and an array of necessary services, upload translation files and other supplementary materials, leave comments, obtain essential notifications and detailed updates on current projects in real time, and much more besides.
Janus Connect API integrates client CMS systems with the web portal, enabling clients to send files for translation directly from their CMS, and to easily obtain prepared localised materials. Process automation saves a significant amount of time and minimises the risk of errors during the transfer or copying of files, meaning project activities become more efficient across the board.
Janus DashPort is another Janus solution that allows clients to obtain detailed and structured information on projects in real time (up to 15 graphical projections are available within the solution, providing KPI, deadline, readiness stage, pricing and other information).
Finally, Janus Express is the company’s newest app, which was created in response to historical difficulties faced by the industry with small-volume translation requests. The practice of charging additional (and sometimes rather large) sums for rush translations of small volumes of material has become common, resulting in many customers choosing not to place orders. Janus Express ensures that all of these issues are a thing of the past. Using Janus Express, small project processing (full cycle) will be from four to eight hours. At present, Janus Express supports the following languages: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Polish, Portuguese and Chinese (simplified).
The steps Janus is taking towards increasingly optimised business processes, improved quality, and reduced turnaround, and, as a result, improved client satisfaction, are based on its core principles: a steadfast focus on innovation, efficiency, progress, and superlative customer service have been at the centre of the company’s history day in and day out for 20 years. Our leading position amongst the world’s largest translation companies and growing list of satisfied clients confirm that we are on the right path.

Independent market research firm Common Sense Advisory has once again published its Language Services Market Report: 2016, which states that Janus Worldwide is one of the leading language service providers in Western Europe.
728 language service providers were evaluated as part of the research. Janus Worldwide now occupies 45th place on its Top 100 Language Service Providers: 2016 ratings and 10th place in its Top Language Service Providers in Western Europe in 2016 ratings.
The fact that Janus Worldwide placed so high is no accident: the company continues to implement its global development strategy and take those steps required to secure its status as a top language service provider. In this regard, Janus Worldwide opened representative offices in the Czech Republic, Germany and Great Britain at the start of the year, which will allow the company to implement its “Follow the Sun” customer and supplier interaction model successfully and offer comprehensive linguistic support 24/7.
The company is also striving to improve customer service, expand its services (linguistic and functional testing and terminology management services are now a core part to offering) and is even developing new added value service (e.g., professional design services).
Moreover, Janus Worldwide diligently works to improve the service quality and regularly renews its ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 17100:2015-05 (Translation Services) compliance certificates, and recently successfully passed ISO 13611:2014-12 (Community Interpreting Services) compliance certification.

Janus participated in the 31st Localization World International Conference held in Dublin from June 8-10, 2016.
Localization World is a key event for language industry representatives and international companies. It takes place several times a year at various locations in different countries. As part of the conference, participants may exchange information, knowledge and experience regarding translation, localization and other aspects of the language services industry.
In 2016, the theme of Localization World 2016 was “Engaging Global Customers.” The venue for the 31st conference was the Convention Centre, a popular location for business events in Dublin.
The conference held presentations on the following subjects:
- Advanced Localization Management
- Keynote Speeches
- Technical Translation
- Content Strategy
- Language Service Providers
- Global Business
- Inside Track
- Core Competencies
Speakers included representatives of major international companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Google, Xerox, Adobe Systems, Inc., Facebook and other language industry providers.
Participating in Localization World is already a tradition for Janus. Company General Director Konstantin Josseliani, Director of Business Development Steve Higgins and Technical Director Dmitry Ulanov attended this year. As part of the Language Service Providers presentations, Dmitry gave a successful speech on “Key Aspects of Successful Operations for LSPs.”
During his presentation, Dmitry discussed the importance of a high-quality management system, which is vital to any company focused on customer service, of adopting a procedural approach that, in turn, integrates various departments/business units and spheres of company operations and ensures that they operate systematically, smoothly, productively, and, as well, of capabilities derived from automating various processes performed with a variety of applications on a daily basis.
Moreover, Dmitry shared his vision of the translation company of the future. He emphasized it would possess:
- integrated data exchange between systems and applications;
- assignment automatisation (an individual would only perform those assignments requiring complex, non-trivial solutions);
- more productive utilisation of MT;
- management by exception (no exceptions being a completely automated process).
Dmitry's presentation was very informative, interesting and thought-provoking, and the solutions he suggested and advice he provided, based on his own experience and reflections, certainly resonated with attending industry colleagues.

At the beginning of April 2016, Janus Worldwide Translation Company successfully passed several audits, proving that its quality management system meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, and translation services provided to customers meets ISO 17100:2015-05. The company also passed certification according to ISO 13611:2014-12, applicable to community interpreting services, for the first time.
Audits for compliance with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 17100:2015‑05 were conducted by specialists, accredited by international companies TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH and Austrian Standards plus GmbH, respectively.
Representatives of the certification bodies talked to staff of Janus Worldwide, asked them questions about how their daily workflow is implemented in practice, what tools are used to optimize work and effective solution of their tasks, what results they have achieved in recent years, and about any developments that they wanted to mention.
As part of the audits, mechanisms were tested for tracking customer satisfaction, human resources, QMS documentation and its relevance, compliance with established procedures and the existence of actual confirmation of this, the basic aspects of production, etc.
Results of the audits once again showed that Janus Worldwide's business processes meet the highest current requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 17100:2015-05. Inconsistencies were not identified in the course of the audit.
Janus Worldwide underwent certification according to ISO 13611:2014-12, relating to community interpreting services, for the first time. This certificate, issued by Austrian Standards plus GmbH, certifies that Janus meets all the necessary criteria and requirements and fulfills all recommendations indicated in this standard (Guidelines for Community Interpreting).
The certificates on compliance with ISO 17100:2015-05 and ISO 13611:2014-12 apply to the production offices in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg), the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan, as well as sales offices in the USA, Austria, Germany and the UK.
Of course, perfection has no limits, and Janus Worldwide is continuing to work hard to improve the quality of services provided. Undergoing annual successful audits, as well as obtaining a new certificate on compliance with another international standard confirms this once again.
