Janus Worldwide Attends OEB 2016 Conference
Monday, 05 December 2016 11:40

Janus Worldwide recently participated in the OEB Conference that occurred in Berlin at the InterContinental Hotel from November 30 through December 2, 2016. OEB is a global conference for education and professional training technologies. The conference is usually a great success, in that the number of participants generally exceeds 2,300, over 80 exhibitors attend the expo that occurs in parallel with the conference, and more than 260 people speak at the conference. Representatives of more than 100 nations participate in the event.

Analysts, business development specialists, IT experts, game and software developers, inventors, researchers, professors, teachers, investors, public servants and others with a professional or personal interest in the event attend OEB. Well-known companies and market leaders, as well as ambitious startups, were among the exhibitors.

As part of the event, more than 100 dynamic symposiums occurred in various formats, from discussions, debates, and workshops to plenary sessions and presentations. But all are interactive, inspiring, and collaborative. OEB provides an excellent opportunity for professional interaction, including as part of a session organized for this specific purpose.

The theme for the 2016 conference was “Owning Learning.” The world of education is undergoing serious transformation which may presently be seen, as at present students are having an extraordinary effect on the educational process by determining and controlling what, where, when, how, and in what format they will learn. Students are giving themselves access to knowledge, interpreting and interacting with the information they receive, and in the future they will be provided with even more power over their education. The OEB Conference was dedicated to discussing this topic this year.

Every year, the OEB Conference crosses boundaries, challenges biases, and is a catalyst for new ideas. This is due to innovations introduced at the expo, speeches from participants, and new forms of dialog. As the event’s organizers attest, “Always expect the unexpected at OEB.”

As Janus Worldwide is an innovative technology company striving to grow and develop, our presence at the event is logical. “It is exciting for Janus Worldwide to be here in Berlin, to exhibit at #OEB16 and to meet with many interesting e-learning content providers and authors, alongside clients that have a keen interest in and need for quality learning material, content and platforms”.

“This year the overall theme is about shaping the future of learning, and owning the content and process of learning, there is a truly global audience here from Europe, North & South America, Asia and Africa – so our business of translation, localization and multimedia certainly has a place, and is of interest to many participants”.

We participated as an exhibitor and presented our proprietary solutions for localizing multimedia educational courses to a large audience. Janus specialists have extensive experience localizing eLearning materials and have been successful at resolving diverse problems during every project.

Thanks to attending EOB 2016, we also became familiar with new technologies and solutions in training and education that could be useful working on our own educational projects by supplementing our own tool box and were very impressed with what we saw.

Janus Worldwide Takes Part in LocWorld32 Montreal and tekom Conferences
Monday, 14 November 2016 00:00

Janus Worldwide has a long tradition of taking part in major industry events, and the LocWorld32 Montreal and tekom conferences held in October and November 2016 were no exception.

LocWorld32 was held from October 26th to 28th, 2016 in Montreal, Canada. LocWorld occurs three times a year and is always a significant event for the translation and localization industry. The event’s exhibitors included key industry players, the media, associations, independent research firms, and software developers, and the event featured representatives from well-known companies such as Facebook, IBM, Adobe Systems, Mozilla and Microsoft.

Speeches on the LocWorld32 Montreal program focused on the following themes: Advanced Localization Management, Inside Track, Community, Keynote, Content Strategy, Translation Automation, Global Business, Technical, Unconference, and Language Service Providers.

Attending LocWorld32 was a great opportunity not only to listen to speakers’ presentations, take part in round tables and discussions, exchange opinions on important industry issues, and significantly expand our professional knowledge, but also to network with colleagues in informal settings during the conference opening and gala dinner.

“Janus Worldwide sponsored the event in Montreal, a great location in which to host Localization World and a fantastic mix of people brought together through one common passion or interest. Over the course of the two main conference days, there were some interesting discussions and powerful, motivating keynotes from industry leaders. The main theme of Engaging Global Customers was very fitting given the struggles to localize and engage on a global scale that many clients and industries are facing these days, and there were some powerful insights from big names such as IBM, Dell EMC, and Adobe to name but a few,” noted Steve Higgins, Janus Worldwide's Director of Business Development. “LocWorld is always a great place to meet new people and engage further with clients and prospects: the informal networking events and breaks in sessions provide the perfect opportunity to get to know people and find out about both hot topics on clients’ minds, and the opportunities that are out there for LSPs such as Janus Worldwide right now.”

The tekom yearly conference, in turn, was held from November 8th to 10th, 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany. The conference, along with its eponymous industry market and tcworld conference, is one of the largest and most popular events in the technical communications sector. Almost all players on the market attended the event, from the newest to the best-known companies, as well as software developers and various service providers, including translation and localization services. The number of participants at the event continues to grow with each passing year and now stands at several thousand people. It attracts an international audience.

The tekom conference provides unique, truly exclusive content from recognized industry experts that are not available on the Internet, informative presentations on real themes related to Tool Presentation, lively discussions during the Technology Panel that offered something for everyone, excellent opportunities for dialog, and poignant conversations with experts and event participants from various countries and areas of activity. Moreover, this was a chance to look at the industry market and get to know the latest developers and industry solutions, which are set to genuinely expand horizons for market players for the foreseeable future.

LocWorld and tekom are excellent information and communication platforms that provide an opportunity to become familiar with the latest technologies, tools, and solutions, talk about ourselves and our own innovations such as the Janus Global Technology Platform, present our ideas, speak with industry colleagues, clients, and partners, and exchange opinions about real and pressing issues. Janus Worldwide is always delighted to participate in such informative, useful events, both as a visitor and as an exhibitor and proactive sponsor.

Janus Worldwide Presents Its Global Technology Platform at eCommerce Expo 2016
Wednesday, 05 October 2016 00:00

Janus Worldwide recently took part in eCommerce Expo 2016, which occurred from September 28-29 in London at the Olympia Exhibition Centre, one of the oldest exhibition halls in Great Britain, and there presented its Global Technology Platform (GTP) to the world.

eCommerce Expo is Europe’s largest e-commerce expo and is an excellent marketing and communications platform that provides participants with the opportunity to make announcements and business contacts. eCommerce Expo visitors are the first to learn about many new products, services and technologies. The event encompasses literally every aspect of the online transaction process, from marketing, web-platforms and effecting payments to delivery systems and customer service. Thousands of professionals come to the exhibition every year.

During eCommerce Expo, Janus Worldwide was delighted to present its recently-developed Global Technology Platform (GTP), which brings together an array of solutions for making the translation and localisation process as simple and transparent as possible while allowing customers around the world to minimise expenditures and receive translation services on-time and at very high quality levels.

The company's proprietary global technology platform tools and solutions were of great interest to exhibition visitors and exhibitors alike, who were all united in their praise. One example was Janus Express, which threw down the gauntlet at the historically widely-held principle that rush translation of small projects should incur large additional fees. Our other solutions  within he Global Technology Platform also proved to be very useful and popular, such as Janus TermCheck, the company’s proprietary terminology management system, JanusPerfect, an integrated multi-level QC system which reduces errors and other translation issues, Janus Connect, a web portal which assists customers with effective translation project management tools, and Janus DashPort, which provides detailed and structured project information real-time.

Janus Worldwide has yet again confirmed that by focusing on innovation, versatility, and continuous improvement, as well as with the assistance of its vibrant and serious exhibition hall stand, it can demonstrate its creative approach to the world, stand out among its peers, and attract the attention of all of the event’s visitors.

Janus Worldwide Director of Business Development Steve Higgins had this to say about participating in the exhibition: “We decided to present the Global Technology Platform at eCommerce Expo in London. Over two days, the event attracted thousands of visitors and became the ideal platform for us to talk about our language solutions and innovative technologies. The event was a huge success, as we spoke with a large number of potential retail, ecommerce and marketing-industry clients and listened to what they were interested in, why, what languages they required, and what technologies played an important role in international commerce. Seventy-five percent of internet users around the world say that they're more inclined to purchase goods and services if the information describing it is in their native language. Thanks to our new solutions, Janus Worldwide helps online retail companies attract new customers and thereby achieve success.”
