Janus Worldwide translation company is continuing to expand its geographical presence as part of implementation of its global development strategy. In April 2016, a production office of the company opened in Germany.

The office in the town of Diez became the thirteenth Janus Worldwide representation in the world. The opening of the new office will allow the company to significantly strengthen its position in the DACH region, which is Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The Director for business development in DACH is Sigrid Eckstein. Sigrid will coordinate business processes in this region, develop business relationships with key customers, attract new customers and work with partners.

"Currently, according to Common Sense Advisory, Janus Worldwide holds 45th position in the world ranking of translation and localization providers. One of the goals of the company is to firmly cement its status as a global language services provider, and we are actively working in this direction, opening new offices worldwide, realizing in practice the follow-the-sun model, providing customers with comprehensive language support at the highest level. Opening the office in Diez is another logical step towards this," commented Konstantin Iosseliani, CEO of Janus Worldwide.

Janus Worldwide is now the owner of an Across certificate
Thursday, 21 April 2016 18:31

From March 7 to 11, 2016, a training session attended by Janus Worldwide employees Alina Vasilyeva and Evgeniya Shirobokova took place at the Across office in Germany. As a result of the educational event, Janus Worldwide became the owner of an Across Certified v6.3 certificate.

The event lasted five days. Each day was devoted to a particular aspect of work with Across in a separate dedicated module: days 1&2 – Project Management, day 3 – Terminology Work, day 4 – Translation with Across, day 5 – System Management. During the training, conducted by Lissa Sum and Frank Erven, participants had the opportunity to not only learn the intricacies of the Across program in detail, and get answers to all their questions and exchange opinions, but also to consolidate the knowledge and skills obtained through practical exercises.

After participating in this educational event, Janus Worldwide staff have significantly improved their competence and skills in working with Across. "Not much time at all has passed since passing Across certification, but we began to feel more confident when receiving questions from translators, because the training helped us better understand the operating principles of the program. During the certification process, Evgeniya and I got ideas how to optimize working in Across, and we hope to implement them soon. We also plan to present internal webinars for colleagues and share the knowledge gained with them," commented Alina Vasilyeva, head of the German Projects Department.

Now, after passing Across certification, Janus Worldwide specialists will provide translation services at a new, even higher level of quality, while ensuring maximum protection of confidential customer information.

Janus offers clients a range of new services
Friday, 27 November 2015 10:29

Quality localization of any product, whether it is a website, training course, software, smartphone application or console game, is impossible without functional and linguistic testing.

Functional testing is viewing or comprehensive testing of programs, presentations, a training course and other products, in order to identify functional defects (arising in the course of development or localization) and their documentation. Linguistic testing is similar to functional, but only text appearing in the product is tested (the extent to which it complies with rules of a particular language).

In other words, work by no means ends with the translation of resource files, and the localized product should be tested in real conditions.

From January 2016, Janus will be pleased to offer clients the following services:

  • functional and/or linguistic testing of software and other materials (complete cycle, including product analysis, test plan and test script development, testing in the right quantity of iterations, and revision if required);
  • independent quality control and possible correction of errors based on results;
  • a complex of services for machine translation (MT), including the following: MT, MT+editing+proofreading, MT+proofreading;
  • glossary development and maintenance.
